The Laboratório do Ator is a theatrical group whose main goals the research of acting
techniques and the artistic exchange (through events and theatrical productions). Our headquarters are located at Campinas,
near São Paulo city, in Brazil.
Among the productions of the company are As Criadas (The Maids), by Jean Genet, O
Jardim das Cerejeiras (The Cherry Orchard), by Anton Tchekov, Lux in Tenebris, by Bertolt Brecht, and Yerma, by Federico
Garcia Lorca. Also the training centre has produced several plays like A Casa de Bernarda Alba (The Bernarda Alba's Home),
by G. Lorca, Divinas Palavras (Divines Words), by Ramon del Valle-Inclán,A Tempestade (The Tempest), by William Shakespeare,
Nossa Cidade (Our Town), by Thornton Wilder, and Sob Todas as Coisas (Under Every Things), based on texts by Samuel Beckett
and Garcia Marquez.
Beyond these we have promoted events intended to allow the artistic improvement and the exchange
of information between professionals and institutions from Brazil and abroad, like the Rota de Fuga Festival Cênico. These events are speeches, exhibitions, workshops and book releases, where theoreticians, directors and actors are invited
to expose or debate their work. The Laboratório do Ator edits, also, Cênica review, a publication specialized in theatre.
Actualy we realize the Companhia de Arte Intrusa,
an artistic enterprise whose the procedure is to approach the differences and to value the peculiarities of each one. The dificulties
from the body, cognitive and/or sensorial damage do not must be considered problems,
but the meaning to the scenic matter.
